In honor of Father's Day, photos of Carmel-by-the-Sea Garages

Who would even think of garages as beautiful? Well, it was a great day here in Carmel-by-the-Sea so I walked all over its one square mile to see what was new. And, something I had never really paid specific attention to, I saw these great "curb appeal" garages. Do we normally even give them a second thought? Nope, just "is it a two- or three-car garage property." Here in Carmel there are still many 1-car garage properties. And it's not just their architecture that make them so attractive, with many it's their landscaping.

I actually remember selling a house many years ago that was languishing on the market until we decided to give it shutters. Maybe I am on to something here? Have a property that is not selling? Have the sellers dress up the garage!

Hella, now YOU'RE making me jealous by posting all those GORGEOUS GARAGE PHOTOS! Wow, they are all so beautiful, I can't pick a favorite...I like #2, #4, #5, but #1, #3 and #6 are pretty, too. :)

Leilani: I never really looked at garages just by themselves, only as part of the whole property. Then I realized that people had really tried to make them look great. Generally the property itself is very small, 5,000 sf, so they need to take advantage of every inch. I like the one with the LAWN in front of their garage. Thanks for commenting.

You're welcome, Hella! With garage beautification, I think it's all about the landscaping and your photos have proven to be great examples of how it's done right. :)

P.S. I like the lawn garage too, but it's a little odd in one way because it makes me think they use their garage for living space or storage...but not cars. :)
