A stroll through Carmel-by-the-Sea's galleries is good for business

Today was one of those glorious fall days in Carmel-by-the-Sea when it was hard to think of work. But it was Friday, and lots of things needed to be done before i can leave on my 2-week ODYSSY (that I will be blogging about daily starting Monday).

So here I am ambling along, popping into art galleries to chat with my friends, the gallery owners.

1. As I am sitting there chatting with one of them, she says, "I think I want to put my gallery on the market." Now I am putting information together for her.

2. Another gallery owner, who has put his primo ocean view home on the market with one of the well known brokers of a major national brand based here in town, gives me a blow by blow description of what is happening with his home sale (actually, what is NOT happening). Since I didn't bring it up, I was on firm ground. I did say that if it didn't sell when his listing expires, to give me a call. In the meantime, I will try to find him a buyer.

3. A third gallery owner is eyeing a specific condo project in town, wanting to exchange it with one in the valley. OK, time to get in touch with the current owners to see if they want to sell.

PS. The silk screen art, above, can be seen at Sabine Adamson Antiques in Carmel-by-the-Sea. My new office, by the way, is right over hers on Su Vecino Court on Dolores, between 5th & 6th Avenue.

What a productive day. I love it when I'm out and about visiting and all of a sudden business happens.

Hella,  there are potential buyers and sellers everywhere we go.  That's one of the best things about our business!  It sounds like you made some good contacts.

Debbie: Isn't it great? Helps to have great weather and be in a good mood. Then everything is possible.

Sharon: My motto has always been, "go out the door" and, of course, go talk to people. Something always comes up. It may be not be now, but it gets the ball rolling towards future business.

Great story, thanks for sharing.  So many opportunities to prospect and network.

Joe: All I need to remember is "go out the door" and start talking to anyone here in Carmel. Everyone knows someone who needs something real estate related.

Richard: Personal networking is very important to me. THE most important.

Hella what I love is when "the big box brokers" are complaining...I had one of the highest producing "team's" member grouse to me yesterday and all I wanted was to get information about her listing....I should tell her like you did....please  let me know if you do not want the listing anymoreEndre

Brad: I am the cold call queen. Love to go out and visit with people. And you never know what will turn up.

Endre: Incredible what information other "professionals" drop that might help us.

Hella, Great idea to share the art via your blog. That is a good PR move and will help their business and yours.
